Suzie Kondi Eyewear

A closer look at the inspiration behind our debut collection.

Two distinctive styles, thoughtfully crafted and rooted in a shared vision between Carla Robertson and Suzie Kondi. Designed as part of the effortless uniform—clean, confident, and timeless.

Carla Robertson was the perfect collaborator for this project. She and Suzie met through friends in New York and realized by sheer coincidence that they both happen to be from Noosa in Australia. A natural connection, they bonded over their shared love of glasses and Bowen mangoes.

Suzie's signature look wouldn't be complete without her glasses. For years she dreamed of designing her own collection. Growing up, Suzie’s mum would always play the music of Nana Mouskouri, the Greek-French folk singer. When designing the collection, Suzie went back to Mouskouri’s iconic look for inspiration.

Famously refusing to take off her glasses for anyone, on Mouskouri’s first tour of North America in the 1960s, Harry Belafonte asked her to remove them — Mouskouri stood her ground, famously saying, "If you want me to stay, it's with my glasses or I go." Like Mouskouri, we feel that glasses are an integral part of one’s identity.

Drawing from Suzie's collection of vintage eyewear, the Yalya glasses have a ‘60s vibe, while the Suzet encapsulates the sleek ‘70s with an aviator shape. Crafted in Italy from bio-acetate and fitted with eco-friendly lenses.
